Forecast of development trend of rubber industry: 8-10% growth in 2021

According to the prediction of association of natural rubber producing countries (ANRPC), the world's natural rubber production will drop by 6.8% in 2020 due to the decrease of rubber price, climate change and other factors. It is estimated that the world natural rubber consumption will decrease by 7.3% in 2020 and increase by 8-10% in 2021.

The Thailand Rubber Association is optimistic about the development of the rubber industry. The Thailand Rubber Association will analyze COVID-19's long-term demand for rubber gloves and increase the demand for rubber gloves. It is estimated that the demand for rubber gloves will increase by 25% and 20% respectively in 2020 and 2021. At the same time, ITRC (international tripartite rubber Council) will promise to strengthen cooperation.

The Thai government has put forward some measures to support small and medium-sized rubber farmers and rubber enterprises: first, the income security plan of rubber farmers; second, stabilizing the price of rubber; third, the credit support plan for rubber wood and rubber enterprises (THB 20 billion); fourth, the credit support plan for rubber production enterprises (THB 25 billion); fifth, providing assistance to rubber enterprises during the epidemic period.
