Thailand is actively promoting the standardization of industrial products of other nine ASEAN countries in the four major goals, with the aim of achieving barrier free trade in the ASEAN region and increasing the export volume of Thailand's industrial products, industry minister Surya of Thailand revealed on the 31st.
Surya said that the office of industrial product standards is required to act as the representative of Thailand to promote the mutual recognition of the industrial product standard certification issued by Singapore, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Brunei in the ASEAN region, and initially take Thailand as the leading market share of four types of industrial products, including electronic components, automobile and spare parts, and rubber Glue and building materials. After signing the memorandum green, these four types of industrial products can be traded within ASEAN countries without repeated inspection, thus reducing trade barriers.
Wan Chai, Secretary General of the office of industrial product standards, said that the office, on behalf of the Thai government, worked with the other nine ASEAN countries to formulate three important measures, including: 1. Modifying the labeling of industrial products in ASEAN member countries to meet international industrial product standards; 2. Mutual recognition of laboratory testing and certification product lists in ASEAN member countries; 3. Revising their respective laws and regulations Unified standards.
Wanchai said that at present, the progress of the above-mentioned four types of industrial product labeling unification work is as follows: 1. The electronic components industry has achieved mutual recognition in accordance with memo green, so that the products tested and certified by Thai laboratories can be exported to the remaining nine ASEAN countries without re testing; 2. The ASEAN agreement on standard certification and mutual recognition of automobile and spare parts industry will be signed on January 16, 2021 3. The building materials industry is entering the stage of legal recognition to sign the ASEAN unified standards agreement for building materials; 4. The member countries of the rubber industry have revised their own standards to meet the 68 international ISO standards and enhance the export potential of ASEAN rubber products, so as to benefit Thailand's rubber products in the global market competition.
It is of great significance for member countries to promote the implementation of the standardization of four types of industrial products in the other nine ASEAN countries, because Thailand is a leader in these four types of industries, especially the automobile and spare parts industry and the rubber industry. If the first national automobile and automobile tire testing center (attric) in ASEAN is built and put into operation, the overall strength of automobile and spare parts industry will be further enhanced.
